1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to StudyNation.one (hereinafter referred to as "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, mobile application, and associated services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and StudyNation.one. Your use of the Platform signifies your acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. User Accounts & Registration

2.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Platform, you can create an account using one of two methods:

Local Authentication: Register directly on our website using a username/email and password.
Google Authentication: Sign in using your Google account via OAuth 2.0.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.

2.2 Account Security

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms (bcrypt/Argon2) and are never stored in plaintext.

2.3 Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform.
If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you confirm that you have parental/guardian consent to use the Platform.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.

3. User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy

StudyNation.one is a User-Generated Content (UGC) platform where users can:

Create and post multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
Ask open-ended questions with public chat discussions
Upload educational notes and study materials
Participate in admin-led quizzes and mock tests
Comment and interact with other users' content

3.1 Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of the content you create and post on StudyNation.one. However, by posting content, you grant us certain usage rights as described in Section 4.

3.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all content you submit, post, or display on the Platform.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights to share the content.
You are legally responsible for any content that violates laws, infringes rights, or causes harm.
We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any user-generated content.
We are not responsible for any consequences arising from user-generated content.

3.3 Content Standards

All user-generated content must:

Be educational and relevant to the platform's purpose
Be accurate to the best of the user's knowledge
Not contain spam, promotional content, or irrelevant material
Respect the intellectual property rights of others

4. Content License Agreement

📌 Grant of License

By posting content on StudyNation.one, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable, and transferable license to use, modify, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform that content (including questions, answers, notes, and comments) for the operation, promotional use, and improvement of our educational services.

This license includes the right to:

Display: Show your content to other users on the Platform
Modify: Adapt content for formatting, language, or technical requirements
Reproduce: Copy content for backup, archival, or distribution purposes
Derive: Create new educational materials (quizzes, tests, study guides) based on your content
Promote: Use your content for marketing and promotional activities

Important Notes:

You retain ownership of your original content.
You can delete your content at any time, but we may retain backup copies for a reasonable period.
Other users may interact with, share, or reference your content.
This license survives termination of your account for content that has been incorporated into educational materials.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to engage in any of the following activities:

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Platform Content

All content on the Platform that is not user-generated (including but not limited to: logos, designs, code, admin-created quizzes, mock tests, notes, graphics, and software) is the intellectual property of StudyNation.one and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 User Content

User-generated content remains the intellectual property of the respective users. However, users grant StudyNation.one a license to use the content as described in Section 4.

6.3 Trademarks

"StudyNation.one" and the StudyNation logo are trademarks of StudyNation.one. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.

7. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

7.1 Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on StudyNation.one infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to our Copyright Agent with the following information:

8. Account Termination & Suspension

8.1 Termination by User

You may delete your account at any time through the following methods:

8.2 Data Deletion Process

Cancellation Period: You have 20 days from the deletion request date to cancel the deletion.
Processing Time: After the 20-day cancellation period, admin processing takes 20-30 days to complete the deletion.
What Gets Deleted: Your personal details (name, email, username, password, city, state) and login credentials.
What Remains: Your user-generated content (questions, answers, notes, comments) remains available for other users to study from.
Content Removal: You can manually delete your content before account deletion if you wish.
Chats & Leaderboards: Your chat messages and leaderboard entries will be automatically cleared during regular platform maintenance cycles.

📌 Note: Once personal data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you change your mind, you must cancel the deletion request within the 20-day cancellation period.

8.3 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for:

Violation of these Terms
Engaging in prohibited activities
Posting illegal or harmful content
Repeated copyright infringement
Abuse of the Platform
Non-payment of any applicable fees

8.4 Effect of Termination

You will lose access to your account and all associated content.
User-generated content may remain on the Platform if integrated into educational materials.
We are not liable for any loss of data due to termination.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

Sharing your answers with other students
Featuring your notes in study materials
Promoting the Platform using your content

Under applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

If you want to remove your content completely:

Your email and personal data will still be deleted

9.4 Can Someone Else Use My Name/Username Later?
